Pulau Kepala or Head Island is one of the outermost islands in Indonesia, it located in the Natuna sea or part of the South China Sea and bordering the east Malaysian state. Head Island is a territory of the Natuna regency, Riau Islands province. This island is also the nearest island to Serasan islands, and it located in the northwest of West Kalimantan province. Administratively, the island is located in the Nusa village, District Serasan, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands province.

Pulau Kepala is looks like a stretch of white sand stone with palm trees. At the center of the island there is 30 meters high lighthouse which was built as a sign that the island is owned by Indonesia.

To reach the Head Island is quite easy because there are lot of boats / fishing boats that from the fishing activities around the island. Head Island can be reached by fishing boat from the dock Serasan for about 3 hours drive with an average speed of 8-9 knots.

Pulau Kepala is very sloping island with the 2 m height above sea level. It has Rocky and sandy beaches, with the depth of the waters around 1-6 meters, while the depth of the waters in distant areas from the island can reach more than 15 meters.
The Lingga Islands or Lingga Archipelago or Kepulauan Lingga is a group of islands that located in south of Singapore, along both sides of the equator, off the eastern coast of Riau Islands province and south of the populated Riau Archipelago.

Lingga derives its name from the profile of Mount Daik; Lingam is the Sanskrit word for phallus. This mountain has three sharp teeth as peak, one of them seems to have broken off at its base, and it was immortalized by Malay poets as the symbol of durability.

To reach the island, people can use Ferry services to the islands from outside the archipelago come from the provincial capital to the north, Tanjung Pinang on Bintan, including from Singapore. These days the main industry is fishing. There are a number of fine beaches with some coral around the Archipelago but there is very little tourism on account of the poor transport links with the outside world.

Singkep has two ports, Dabo near Dabosingkep and Jago near Sungaibuluh. Service to the port of Muntok on P. Bangka of Sumatera Selatan ceased operating regularly with the demise of the tin mining industry. However, a high-speed ferry continues to connect Tanjung Pinang to Singkep, from where local boats may be chartered to Lingga. For Lingga, Daik is the major town and port. It can be reached in a day from Singapore transferring at Tanjung Pinang.


Mangkai island is one of the outermost islands that located in the group of Anambas Islands. This hilly island is having white sandy beaches and rocky land. On the next to Mangkai island there is also a small Mangkai island in smaller size. The island is inhabited only by the lighthouse keeper and the Navy.

Administratively, this islands are part to the area of Keramut village, Jemaja districts, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands province. The island is located in the Natuna Sea and it borders to Malaysia.

To access Mangkai island, it can begin from Batam to Palmatak, which is the capital of the island of Matak by small plane. It can be continue by renting a speedboat to Letung, the capital of Jemaja districts. Then, we can rent another medium-sized motor boat to the island Mangkai for about 1.5 hours drive.

In addition, the trip can also be reached by ferry which departed from Tanjungpinang. These ferry boats operate every four days, which is KM. Bukit Raya and KM. Lawit. From Tanjungpinang, the ship will directly goes to Letung – Tarempa and Natuna. The journey from Tanjungpinang to Letung takes about 8 hours.


Penyengat Island is a small island that is approximately 6 km from the town of Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands province. This island measures approximately 2500 meters x 750 meters, and is approximately 35 km from the island of Batam. This island can be reached by using a boat or better known by pompong boat. By using pompong boat, it takes approximately 15 minutes drive.

Penyengat Island is one of tourist attractions in Riau Islands. The evidence from the center of defense during the war is can be seen from the presence of a castle on the hill. The hill is known as Bukit Kursi. As a center of defense, it has some cannons that facing to the sea. The cannons are very strategically located, which can be use at any time when the enemy approached.

Rempang island, with an area of ??approximately 165 km ², is an island in the municipality of Batam, Riau Islands province which is the second major series of islands that connected by six bridges of Barelang. The island is located approximately 3 km to the southeast of Batam island and it connected by 5th Barelang bridge with Galang Island in the south. At this time, the island Rempang has been developed for agriculture and fisheries for Sembulang region, as well as having some nice beaches.

Together with the island of Batam, Galang Island and Rempang island is a cluster of large islands in the territory of Batam city, which administratively bordered with Riau Islands – Singapore – Malaysia.

Rempang island has an area of ??165.83 km2, while the Galang island has an area of ??80 km2. Physically, the development of these two islands is related with the existence of Batam Island which had first developed and populated. This region has no land topography with height of over 50 meters.

Sebetul island is the outer islands of Indonesia, which located in the Natuna sea or part of the South China Sea. It borders with the country of Vietnam and it administratively located in the territory of the Natuna regency, Riau Islands province.

Sebetul island is kind a rocky island with steep rugged coast and overgrown bushes. It is located in Air Payang village, Pulau Laut District, Natuna regency, Riau Islands Province. Sebetul island can be reached by fishermen boat who frequently fishing on the island. The island is accessible by fishing boat from Air Payang village, which takes about 30 minutes.

Sekatung Island is the outermost islands and it located in the north part of the province of Riau Islands, precisely located in the South China Sea and bordered by the country of Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Sekatung Island is a territory of the Natuna regency, Riau Islands province.

Sekatung island is covering about 1.65 square kilometers. From Sekatung island, we get closer to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) than to Jakarta which is about more than 1,000 kilometers. The residents are consist of five group families which was populated since 2007, 2 security of navigation personnels division and 1 Company Task Force Marines. The island is also part of the 12 small islands, which are administratively entered into the District of Sea Island, Natuna regency, Riau Islands Province.

Surrounded by the sea which is clean and clear, Sekatung island is very beautiful destination to be visited. The air is fresh and pollution free. Sekatung island is also surrounded by wide coral reefs and the distance between the mainland border with coral lips in the southeastern part of the island is up to 2 km.
